[Release]Gulf Coasters endorse Ross
Today Senator Charlie Ross, the conservative candidate for lieutenant governor, received the endorsements of State Senator Billy Hewes [R-Gulfport], State Representative Jim Simpson [R-Gulfport], State Representative Michael Janus [R-Biloxi], Chancery Clerk John McAdams [R-Harrison County], Tax Assessor Tal Flurry [R-Harrison County], Supervisor Marlin Ladner [R-Board President, Harrison County], and Supervisor Connie Rocko [R-Harrison County], in his bid for the state’s second highest office.
The endorsements came during a press conference at the Bayou Bluff Tennis Club in Gulfport.
“I am humbled to receive the support of these elected officials, whose strong conservative records have been a great asset to the Coast and Mississippi as a whole,” Ross said.
During the press conference, all seven elected officials had positive things to say about Charlie Ross.
“Charlie has shown decisive leadership on several key issues. I’m proud to support Charlie Ross for Lt. Governor.” - Sen. Billy Hewes
“Charlie has always understood the needs of the Gulf Coast. I am proud to offer my support.” - Rep. Jim Simpson
“Charlie is unafraid to stand up for his convictions.” - Rep. Michael Janus
“This race is about leadership for Mississippi, and Charlie Ross is the only candidate in this race that can provide the leadership that Mississippi and the Coast needs.” - Chancery Clerk John McAdams
“I’ve checked his record and I believe he is the best man for South Mississippi and the state.” - Tax Assessor Tal Flurry
“When the chips were down after Katrina, he came through for us on the Coast.” - Supervisor Marlin Ladner
“Not only does he know the local issues and statewide issues, but he served his country and served it well [in the United State Air Force].” - Supervisor Connie Rocko
Senator Ross has also received the endorsements of State Senators Walter Michel, Ralph Doxey, Richard White, and Terry Brown.
“It is important that strong conservatives like the officials who stand here with me today have a large part in electing the next Lt. Governor,” Ross said. “I appreciate their kind words and look forward to working with each of them as the next Lt. Governor of Mississippi.”
