[Release] Secretary of State Eric Clark Won’t Run
According to a statement (PDF, 630k) released today, Secretary of State Erik Clark (D) has announced that he will not re-run for the office this year. Touting his success on Coast tideland issues, balancing casino development with environmental concerns and implementing the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), Clark gave no immediate indication of future plans.

Well, this is interesting. Is he running for governor? Lieutenant governor? And who’s running for secretary of state?
Cheers,

I wonder. I am almost positive he is NOT in for Lt Gov. He flirted with the idea last time, but the low salary was a large factor in him keeping his current job. Possibly governor, but I think not.
I predict a large name firm for large dollars. I think Eric has tired of public service, has gotten in some good years, has a nice retirement fund, and is ready to make some private sector money.
I stress this is ONLY an opinion and one of an individual that DOES NOT have his ear. I am simply commenting on rumors I have heard, and things I have put together.
I wish him well on any future endevours.

Oy. Now I’m worried since I heard Ross is being paid for by Insurance Companies in his run for Lt Gov.

I much prefer Ross to Bryant and Franks to Ross, but none of the three really grab me. I’ll end up voting for Franks in an effort to put the Senate back in Democratic hands, where it belongs. The truth is that if Jamie Franks were lieutenant governor yesterday instead of Amy Tuck, those three abortion bills never would have gone to a Senate vote (because Alan Nunnelee would not be the one chairing the Public Health and Welfare Committee under a Democratic Senate), and I think we all know it.
Cheers,

The casino player development team has always been and remains the heartbeat of the casino. It is this team consisting of the director, host manager, executive hosts, casino hosts, slot hosts and player development reps that cater to the players who produce the most revenue for the casino.
